About

About

First Steps is a family owned and operated centre located in Atherton, Queensland.

Our team of highly qualified and trained staff have developed and grown our centre into a space where parents feel safe leaving their children, and where children learn and thrive at their own pace.

Since opening, we have helped shape the lives and minds of over +2,000 children and are proud to now have one of our first Kindy kids now working with us in the centre.

At our Centre, we provide a total learning environment where children are encouraged to observe, question, experiment and explore. The staff involve the children in the programme and the children’s interests are the basis for their planning. To ensure all our programming meets government guidelines, we have incorporated the new Early Years Learning Framework (Belonging, Being & Becoming) across the centre.

Belonging

Belonging acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the basis of relationships in defining identities. Experiencing belonging is knowing where and with whom you belong.

Being

Being recognises the significance of the here and now in children’s lives. It is about the present and them knowing themselves, building and maintaining relationships with others, engaging with life’s joys and complexities and meeting challenges in everyday life.

Becoming

Becoming reflects the processof rapid and significant change that occurs in the early years as young children learnand grow.

Our Leadership Team

At First Steps, we believe quality care begins with quality staff who are dedicated to creating a warm and happy environment that your child will want to return to; and our team of highly trained and qualified teachers and educators care for your children as if they are their own.
